How to draw the perfect circle in Word and Google Docs

Have you ever tried to draw a circle in Word or Google Docs and ended up with something that looks more like an egg? 

Here’s the simplest way to get a perfect circle every time.

Microsoft Word

• Go to Insert

• Select Shapes

• Choose Oval

• Click your mouse onto the page where you want the circle

• Hold the SHIFT key and move your mouse top left to bottom right until you have the size of circle you need

• Keep holding the SHIFT key while drawing – this locks the height and width to form the perfect circle.

• You can resize the circle using any of the corner crop marks.

Google Docs

• Go to Insert

• Select Drawing

• Choose New

• Click the Shape icon

• Choose Shapes and Oval

• Click your mouse onto the Drawing window

• Hold the SHIFT key and move your mouse top left to bottom right until you have a circle (keep holding the SHIFT key while drawing the circle)

• Click Save & Close to drop the drawing into your document

You can resize the circle using any of the corner crop marks.

This is ideal for admin tasks, reports, worksheets and templates.
