About me
I’m Dawn, founder of Aurora Admin FTS.
I help businesses and organisations get organised, improve the way they work and make everyday challenges easier to manage through practical admin and operational support.
With over 30 years of experience across admin, executive support, operations, projects, facilities and people management, I've worked in both public and private sector organisations, including senior roles within the University of Dundee and Alliance Trust.
I've seen first-hand how much difference clear processes, good organisation and the right support can make.
That experience is what I now bring to Aurora Admin FTS.
Experience that makes a difference
Throughout my career, I've worked alongside senior leaders, managed teams, supported complex projects and looked for practical ways to improve how organisations work.
I've managed large-scale workplace projects, reviewed systems and processes, developed procedures, delivered training and supported teams through periods of change.
This experience means I can look at the bigger picture while still understanding the detail. I don't just see an admin task or an operational challenge - I look at how the pieces fit together, what's getting in the way and what could work better.
Why Aurora?
I started Aurora Admin FTS because I wanted to use my experience in a more personal and practical way, helping organisations that don't necessarily need a full-time employee or large consultancy, but do need experienced support they can trust.
My approach is simple: listen first, understand the real challenge and then find a practical way forward.
I believe good support should make things easier, not more complicated. No jargon, no unnecessary layers, just clear, thoughtful support tailored to your organisation and the people within it.
and yes, I really do love admin!
I know that might sound unusual, but I genuinely do.
I'm naturally organised and detail-focused, and I enjoy bringing order to information, finding better ways of doing things and creating systems where things have become messy or complicated.
I take pride in getting the details right and making life easier for the people I'm supporting.
That attention to detail, combined with my wider experience in operations, facilities, executive support, training and mentoring, is what I bring to Aurora Admin FTS.
A little about me
I'm based in Perthshire and, when I'm not working, I enjoy exploring the Scottish landscape, visiting museums and art galleries, and getting creative.
I value good relationships, genuine conversations and a practical approach to life, qualities that I think are just as important in business as they are outside it.
